Alberta Oil Sands Needs $100/tCO2 Tax

By September 25, 2015News

This blog posts my submission to the Alberta Climate Change Advisory Panel.  It recommends a $100/tCO2 levy on oil sands emissions based on: (a) the expressed desire from Alberta’s customers that the Province demonstrate meaningful action on climate change and (b) that, at an equivalent $1.00/barrel produced, such a levy would be easily affordable without damaging investment or jobs.  Click OilSands&CarbonAction(2) to see the submission.
